Summer Glow: Internal & External Ways to Achieve a healthy-SKIN SUMMER GLOW!

The summer is here and what’s trending is focusing on skincare and finding new ways to maintain a healthy body and skin through what you drink and eat. After you have done what it takes internally for great skin (and a healthy lifestyle), a “no-makeup – makeup” look will top it off with minimal products and easy make up application to have them wondering if you are wearing makeup or not.
Since most of us were homebound and free from events that made us want to put on lots of makeup, natural looking skin has slowly become the new glamorous. From weddings to fashion shows – looking like you “just a little better”- is what is leading the way in the beauty industry. We all started to pay closer attention to proper skincare and researching ways to wear (and be proud of) our natural Godgiven beauty. Let’s explore a few internal and external ways to achieve a healthyskin summer glow.
First things first, lots of good old H2O (Water) is the best way to good health and healthy skin. By flushing out toxins in your body, your skin responds by being softer, plumper and hydrated giving you a younger looking complexion. But let us face it, to just say “drink water” is a little expected and slightly boring. Have you ever wondered what you could you do with that water to make it tastier while providing the proper nutrients for healthy skin? *Here are some suggestions that are not only good for the skin but can also detox the body:

1.

  1. Grapefruit + rosemary – Used for weight loss, together with rosemary, which is rich in antioxidants and enhances memory and concentration.
  2. Cool calm beauty water – Give yourself a boost with this berries and mint infused beauty water.
  3. Collagen building cucumber spa water – Helps to produce hydrated, softer, and firmer skin.
  4. Digestive aid beauty water – Helps digestion and boosts beauty from the inside out.

In addition to tastier and healthier water infused with good ingredients, incorporating foods high in Vitamin A, C and E are particularly good for the body and the skin. Some options are:
    VITAMIN A
    • Beef liver
    • Sweet potato
    • Carrots
    VITAMIN C
    • Citrus Fruit
    • Peppers
    • Strawberries
    VITAMIN E
    • Wheat germ oil
    • Soybean oil
    • Sunflower seeds

To compliment that new and improved skin (and healthier lifestyle), here are some tips for a natural makeup look that is sure to make them ask the question – is she wearing makeup or not?
  1. Use primer and/or sunscreen as your base under foundation.
  2. Use a micro-brow pencil or even a tinted brow gel to fill in and enhance the brows.
  3. Makeup brands are now incorporating products with more natural ingredients and using plantbased nutrients to create tinted moisturizer and buildable foundations. A little goes a long way when your skin is healthy. Apply with your hands like moisturizer to make sure it blends into the skin.
  4. Cream blush is immensely popular these days for natural makeup looks – however be mindful of your skin type before use. If you are oilier in the summer months make sure to set your cream blush with a translucent powder or go for primer infused blush to prevent it from fading or enhancing pores or texture in the skin. Regular powder blush the color of your undertone (Peach, Red, Brown) also works to give just a hint of color and contrast to the face.
  5. Lip gloss is always a winner on the lips. It is simple, comfortable under a mask and gives the lips a fuller and more youthful appearance.
  6. Add mascara or even individual lashes (if you are feeling adventurous).

Finally, I recommend that you use setting spray to set your look and use a skin-refresher at any outdoor events during the summer to refresh your make up throughout the day.
If you do not have time for all of the above steps: Focus on brows, mascara, lip gloss and a lightly tinted blush to get you through the day for an easy natural makeup look.
