Emmy Award-winning and six-time Emmy nominated news anchor/reporter and host, Vanessa Tyler, talks to Career Mastered Magazine about her new role at Black Information Network (BIN), current hot topics in black news, and what it is like to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.

With extensive and impressive broadcast journalism experience. Dr. Tyler is a veteran of local news operations in New York, Washington, D.C., Dayton, Ohio, Rochester, New York, and Charlotte, North Carolina. A graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Communications, the Harlem native is actively involved in a number of community organizations and has been recognized by the National Association of Black Journalists, the Associated Press, and the Garden State Association of Black Journalists

Currently she is the inaugural anchor on the new 24/7 national radio network: The Black Information Network. BIN brings news of interest to the black community by award winning black journalists. It can be heard on iHeart and BIN affiliated stations nationwide. Dr. Tyler is also President/CEO of VT|TV Productions. Under her company she co- produced and made extremely popular the show What’s Eating Harlem which explores life in her hometown. Her mission is to continue elevating her company in the creation of unique, relevant, and compelling programming content.

Taking us back to Harlem, she shares how motivation is driven by a person’s environment. She believes that each of us has the power to inspire and motivate others with our dreams as well.
