Impact: Im Still Standing

In 1987, Congress declared the entire month of March as National Women’s History Month. Along with this declaration, Congress passed additional propositions between 1988 and 1994, which stated that a special Presidential Proclamation should be issued yearly, announcing that the month remains dedicated to women.

We chose the theme “IMPACT: I’m Still Standing,” for this year’s national presentation of The Career Mastered 9th Annual Women’s History Diversity Summit & Leadership in Action Awards.

Throughout history, women have overcome many barriers to make exceptional contributions in the marketplace to get where they are today. Research shows that women face large and small inequalities at home and at work. Notwithstanding, the COVID-19 pandemic deeply affected women around the world.

Women have been fighting for their rights for years and yet, while impacted, still stand. Standing in the face of adversity says a lot about how strong and resilient women are. Despite discrimination and barriers placed in front of women, they continue to make changes for themselves and create paths for the next generation of girls.

Since 2015, Career Mastered has celebrated women across multiple disciplines and industries during Women’s History Month to acknowledge the many and varied contributions women around the nation have made to America’s heritage. Women such as Teisha J. Lott-Brown show us how to stand in the face of odds.
