In 1987, Congress declared the entire month of March as National Women’s History Month. Along with this declaration, Congress passed additional propositions. between 1988 and 1994, which stated that a special Presidential Proclamation should be issued yearly, announcing that the month remains dedicated to women.

I am totally excited to welcome women to Detroit for a transformative experience of networking, celebration, and learning. Happy Women’s History Month! Enjoy!
We are turning 10 and making a full circle to the city where it all began. In 2014, the concept of Career Mastered was born, followed by launching a local women’s history month recognition program in Detroit. Since that time, Career Mastered has become a national recognition program and a global media platform.
We’re thrilled to come home to celebrate and have chosen the theme “Resilient: I am Her!” for this year’s national presentation of Career Mastered Women’s History Leadership Summit & Awards and Legend’s Ball.
Throughout history, women have overcome many barriers to make exceptional contributions in the marketplace to get where they are today. Research shows that women face large and small inequalities at home and at work. Women have been fighting for their rights for years and yet, while impacted, still stand. Standing in the face of adversity says a lot about how strong and resilient women are. Despite barriers placed in front of women, they continue to make changes for themselves and create paths for the next generation of girls.
Since its beginning, Career Mastered has celebrated women across multiple disciplines and industries during Women’s History Month to acknowledge the many and varied contributions women around the nation have made to America’s heritage.
I stop to honor and recognize one such woman, the late Florine Mark. Florine was the Inaugural Career Mastered Living Legend. From the beginning of Career Mastered, she was committed to our mission. We salute you and your commitment to women and girls.
I personally thank each of you who have journeyed with us to reach 10 years of advancing women’s leadership. It’s time to celebrate!
Thank you!
