Letter From The Publisher: Leaving A Legacy

cver

As we enter the fall season with the changing leaves, shorter days, and cooler nights, it reminds us of nature’s cycle of life and how we, too, face constant changes. We can reflect on these changes while planning and working to leave a legacy. I personally associate fall with the growing cycle of ripeness, maturity, and harvest. The harvest is associated with abundance, prosperity, wealth, and wisdom. Each of these are part of the legacy I hope to leave to my children along with faith and prayer.

Building a legacy is a lifelong journey and accumulation of impressions we’ve made in others through our daily lives. Ultimately, it’s about the person we’re becoming, our character, faith, and its impact. For some leaving a legacy is much more about leaving wisdom, values, and influence in the lives of their children, grandchildren and beyond than mere physical assets.

If there’s anyone, we can learn from about leaving a legacy within our home, community, and the world, it’s Detroit’s legendary and former WXYZ-TV news anchor Diana Lewis. In this issue, we share about her trailblazing career across 44 years and the history she made with her daughter Glenda, anchoring at WXYZ-TV in Detroit.

As with all issues of Career Mastered Magazine, we ensure our articles are relevant and practical. So, sit back, relax, and reflect as you lean forward to embrace challenges, learn from failure, and move ahead. You will read about how to be taken seriously in the workplace, tips for negotiating higher pay, the age of AI and what entrepreneurs need to know, beauty tips and dressing for success.

Between our quarterly issues, we keep you informed through the Career Mastered website and bi-monthly newsletter. There, we keep you in touch with career stories, photos of our events, and our social media platforms, where women can join the Career Mastered Women’s Leadership Network (CMWLN).
