LETTER FROM THE PUBLISHER

“Women now drive the world economy. Globally, they control about $20 trillion in annual consumer spending, and that figure could climb as high as $28 trillion in the next five years. Their $13 trillion in total yearly earnings could reach $18 trillion in the same period. In aggregate, women represent a growth market bigger than China and India combined—more than twice as big, in fact,” according to The Harvard Business Review.

Given those numbers, it’s easy to see that a woman’s worth is powerful beyond measure. Yet, as a woman, I can tell

you that a woman’s worth is so much more than the economy. Her worth is the totality of who she is—a mother, spouse, leader, friend, businesswoman. A woman’s worth is measured by a fully expressed life. One where she has the courage to be her own person, create her own vision of life—regardless of what society says or the limits imposed.

In this issue of Career Mastered Magazine, we highlight Women of Power & Worth.

On our cover is Janice Dupré Little, a woman of power and worth. Recently, Janice was appointed to the top Human Resources position as Executive Vice President of Lowe’s Companies Inc. — an extraordinary accomplishment.

An expanded number of companies are seeing the value of having more

women in leadership, and they’re proving that they can make progress on gender diversity. This is an important step in the right direction to value women’s worth and make progress on the road to equality. And, the work continues.

To enhance your power steps, in this issue of Career Mastered Magazine, we’ve included 7 Must-Haves for Today’s Iconic Businesswomen, a Career Success Tool Kit focused on understanding your worth, and wealth and beauty tips for the fall season.
