Following engaging presentations and cross disciplinary dialogues, the participants at the Career Mastered Women’s Leadership Diversity Summit & Awards 2022 have committed to the goal of creating possibilities for the future.
The 8th Annual Career Mastered National Women’s History Month event was held on March 22-23, in Charlotte, NC, and featured such notables as Kiko Davis Snoddy (touted by many as the only Black female bank owner in the U.S.), trustee of Donald Davis Living Trust, which controls First Independence Bank, the seventhlargest Black-owned bank in the U.S., and honored Jasmine Crowe, Founder & CEO Goodr, Entrepreneur, and TED Speaker; Dr. Sharon L. Gaber, Chancellor, University of North Carolina at Charlotte; Dr. Charlotte P. Morris, President, Tuskegee University; and Janell Ross, President, Bob Ross Automotive, among others.
The Summit concluded with several Call to Actions (CTAs), which include making it a priority to share the lessons learned and insights gained around such topics as:
- The Value of Women on Boards
- Empowering Women to Lead
- Spilling the Tea on Venture Capital
- The Power of Talk: Who Gets Heard
And so much more.
Opening remarks were provided by Jada Grandy Mock, Chief Community Impact Banking Officer, Fifth Third Bank, and Carlos Cubia, Senior Vice President & Global Chief Diversity Officer, Walgreens. A hybrid event, it was attended by in-person and on-line participants representing various Corporate, Government, Academic and Entrepreneurial professionals. Participants were able to connect with key Engagement Exhibit Center resources to leverage their entrepreneurial journeys or corporate careers.
Prestigious Diversity, Inclusion and Leadership Awards were presented to more than 80 game-changing women for the impact they’ve made in the marketplace. Scholarships were provided to two Rising Star scholars by Fifth Third Bank. In addition, Walgreens and Mercedes-Benz USA donated additional scholarships to Excel Village Center for Learning which will be granted throughout this year.
