Women You Should Know!

Role models inspire and encourage. Knowing women’s achievements helps other women and girls know what is possible. “Her story” is a catalyst that sparks our desire to contribute in some way. Career Mastered Magazine salutes women who are in the arena mastering their work and those who have learned the necessary steps to move ahead to build a successful career.

President Biden appointed STACEY DIXON as Principal Deputy Director, Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Dixon, an intelligence technology expert, is the first Black woman to hold the No. 2 intelligence position. According to her LinkedIn profile, Dixon has a wealth of intelligence and government experience. In 2019, Dixon became the eighth Deputy Director of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). She has also worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, where she was assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office’s Advanced Systems and Technology Directorate. Dixon holds both a Doctorate and Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. She was also a chemical engineering postdoctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota. She additionally serves as a presidentially-nominated member of the Board of Visitors to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and is a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

LINDA HANNAH PLACES 3RD IN TOASTMASTERS’ DISTRICT 28 INTERNA[1]TIONAL SPEECH CONTEST Earlier this year, Senior Commercial Contract Analyst, LINDA HANNAH competed in the 2022 Toastmasters International Speech Contest. In this year’s International Speech Contest, Linda Hannah represented a community club in West Bloomfield, MI. Linda advanced to the highest level of competition in the District 28 contest after competing with nearly 60 contestants from the club all the way to the district level. Linda was recognized for third place for her speech “Beyond the Scars.” She won first place at the division level for her speech, “What’s Your Hat?” Since 2011, Linda (a former milliner) has been a speaker on the History of Hats for historical societies, libraries, and more for Hat Moments. In 2021, she became a contributing writer for “A Widow’s Resilience.” This year, Linda is launching Linda Hannah Speaks as she continues to speak to inspire, encourage and motivate others. She has essentially gone from making hats for over 30 years to now talking about the different types of hats that we all wear as we navigate life.
