If you look in the dictionary, the word paradise describes an intermediate place or state where the souls of the righteous await resurrection and the final judgment like Eden or Heaven. Others may think of it as a place or state of bliss, felicity, or delight.
Below is a roundup of ways you can begin to create your own little pocket of paradise so you can reach a state of calm, peace, and joy in your everyday life.
Visualize your own utopia
Your mind controls your state of being. To experience paradise, you must first decide what it will look like for you and then mentally place yourself there through visualization. Is paradise to you a backyard oasis at your home? A tropical getaway? A mountain escape? Country living? Give yourself the time and space to visualize your desires and think positively about being in that peaceful state of mind by meditating. You will need a calm, quiet place and at least 10 minutes of silence so you can focus your vision. Try meditating on your version of paradise to align your thoughts and actions with that paradigm.
Practice intentional manifestation
Building your own paradise starts in the mind, but faith without work is dead. Intentional manifestation is the key to bringing your version of paradise to life. Manifestation is a practice of aligning your thoughts and actions to produce desired outcomes. Someone intentionally practicing manifestation might start off by creating a vision board of their desires. Next they might set their intentions daily so that their behavior, energy, and action steps align with the desire they wish to create. For example, if creating that dream backyard, they might create a Pinterest board of ideas, visualize how good it would feel to spend the evening in it, and begin educating themselves about various landscaping or outdoor setups that might work best for their home.
“A vital part of finding your own paradise is finding the right people to experience this blissful place with you.”
Love on your tribe
Most people do not want to experience paradise alone. They want their favorite people right there alongside them. When you think about your dream paradise, does it include any company? A vital part of finding your own paradise is finding the right people to experience this blissful place with you. Whether that’s family, a friend group, or a romantic interest, be intentional about the support system you build around you, and carve out time to nurture those relationships so that you can have the paradise (and village) of your dreams. No matter how busy life gets, remember to never get so busy that you can’t share a beer with a buddy… even if it’s only once a week.
Nurture your inner child
Your inner child never goes away. No matter how old you are, there is a child inside of you holding all the thoughts and dreams they had when you were little. If you aren’t sure what your own paradise would look like, maybe it’s time to get in touch with your inner child to their hopes and dreams. Take some time to think about and then write down some of the places you always wanted to travel to when you were a child. As an adult, you now have the independence to go wherever you desire. So if you’re all out of ideas, take this as an opportunity to book a trip to a place you’ve always wanted to visit. This might be a healing experience for your inner child, inspire a great awakening, or help spark something in you to reach a state of calm, peace, and everlasting joy.
