August 23, 2018 Charlotte – (Newswire) – Macy’s Corporate Giving donated $2,000 to Excel Village Center for Learning today during a brief check presentation ceremony at it’s Northlake Mall Store in Charlotte, North Carolina. The donation will support Excel Village girls mentoring programs which includes training mentors, developing & designing career and life-skills mentoring materials and scholarships. Excel Village is currently working within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, Rock Hill (South Carolina) Public District Schools and Detroit (Michigan) Public Schools Community District. Established in 2015, the organization is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students of all ages and remains committed to its partnership with local school districts.
“Our goal is to create winning futures for girls in 5th-12th grades by providing an evidenced based curriculum of career planning and life-skills development,” said Dr. Lisa Lindsay Wicker, Founder and CEO. “We are fortunate to have Macy’s Corporate Giving as a strategic partner as we strive to enhance the lives of youth through mentoring, scholarship and education.”
