Macy’s donated $2,000 to Excel Village Center for Learning during a brief check presentation ceremony at it’s Northlake Mall Store in Charlotte, North Carolina recently. The donation will support Excel Village girls mentoring programs, which include training mentors, developing and designing career and life-skills mentoring materials, and scholarships. Excel Village is currently working within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District; Rock Hill (South Carolina) Public District Schools; and Detroit (Michigan) Public Schools Community District. Established in 2015, the organization is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students of all ages and remains committed to its partnership with local school districts.

“Our goal is to create winning futures for girls in 5th through 12th grades by providing an evidence-based curriculum of career planning and life-skills development,” said Dr. Lisa Lindsay Wicker, Founder and Board Chair. “We are fortunate to have Macy’s as a strategic partner as we strive to enhance the lives of youth through mentoring, scholarship and education.”
